How to Motivate to start Exercising

Most of us first starting out in our fitness journey get really excited and motivated  about the results we want to see in our soon to near future. But what happens? The moment comes to do what it takes to get those gains but we somehow come out with all the excuses in the book; I'm too tired, I don't have time, This is so boring! But those excuses are just that, excuses! If only we could keep that same motivation going so we can actually get started! How do we keep that same motivation going.... that's where the crux is because...Action must come before motivation!

That's right, you MUST take action before your motivation starts. Once you start moving and start seeing your results, it gets easier and easier to keep going! But what about those pesky excuses? Let's look at some of those excuses and turn them around, shall we?

"I'm too tired" - I'll let you in on a little secret... Your lack of physical activity may be the reason you're so tired! Yes, you read that right! According to Mayo Clinic: "Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, [you'll] have more energy". This should be motivation enough to get up and get moving!

"I don't have time!" -  This one is probably the biggest and most widely used excuse today. Everyone seems busy all the time, between work and social gatherings, who has time to work out? Though it may seem impossible, everyone has time in their day to add a bit of physical fitness, you just have to be creative! After all, as long as you have 30 minutes to spare in your day you're golden! You can even break up those 30 minutes into 3,10 minute increments! Take a walk during your break at work, exercise 10 minutes before you get ready for work and 10 minutes before bed. There are 24 hours in your day, if you truly want to see results, you can squeeze a measly 30 minutes of working out in your day.

"Exercise is boring!" - If you're like me, doing anything monotonously is extremely boring. The solution is very simple, you have to find something you enjoy doing! Exercise doesn't have to be boring, it can be quite fun! You can try to switch it up every day! Try joining a fitness class one day a week. If you like dancing, try doing that. There are many different kinds of workouts out there. Do a little soul searching and find the one you love!

At the end of the day, all of the results you see are the consequences of the choices you have been making in life. If you don't like where you are, it's up to you to make that change! You can do it!  We believe in you!
