A Quick History on Red Light Therapy

You may have heard about red light therapy before and even know what it is used for and the many benefits of this type of therapy, but do you know it's history?

Shortly after the invention of the lightbulb by Thomas Edison, a Danish physician by the name of Niels Ryberg had started to study the effect of light on living things. He then ended up developing a therapy treatment with light for lupus vulgaris in 1896. His treatments were a success and he eventually was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1903.

Many other countries have used red light therapy as treatment for many ailments as far back as the 1970's and still are. It is not until much recently that the western world has placed any attention to this form of therapy.
